The crew traveled to the Herradura, one of the more popular fishing spots in Cabo, and the anglers caught four Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 5 to 25 pounds on bait and two 3-pound Skipjack. What a day it was!

They ran to the Lighthouse, where they caught six Yellowfin Tuna that weighed from 10 to 30 pounds on bait.

Still, the one they won’t forget will be the 250-pound Blue Marlin. They will never tire of telling the story of how they caught and released that one.

P    Adrián Gonzalez, and Adrián Gonzalez Caballero from Monterrey, Mexico, selected the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, managed by Captain Bruce and Mate Carlos Santos. They caught ten Yellowfin Tuna on bait and feathers, 35 miles to the 180 Spot. But the highlight of their fishing day, probably their season, or maybe their lifetime, was the release of their big (170-pound) Blue Marlin. They caught it on a green and brown lure, and the last we saw of them, they were giving details on how they fought that huge Blue.

On the “BBII,” a 37-foot Viking Billfish 2018, Captain Hector and Mates Gil and Lalo took their Arizona guests John Stringer, Matt Esterline, Rigo Melendez, Ted Hooten, and Tim Rutti to the 1150 Spot, where they caught a 163-pound Blue Marlin on curry.

Their clients from Vaughn, Montana, were eager and would fish wherever the crew directed them. Their patience was rewarded with a couple of Yellowfin Tuna on bait, but next they had the bite they were looking for, a 110-pound Striped Marlin that they released on cocinero at the 95 Spot. The group credited the crew for their expert guidance and promised to return for another unforgettable challenge.

Meanwhile, on the “CALIENTE,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, Captain Jaime and Mate Silverio prepared for their day with their solo angler, Craig Heminger. They had decided to head to the Herradura, so they took off in that direction. They arrived at their destination just as the sun climbed high in the sky, and they began to see signs of life underneath the water. They soon had their first hit when a Blue Marlin took a Guacamayo lure. After a couple of misses, another joined the fight, and a third followed suit. At the end of the day, Craig had battled and caught and released three Blue Marlin weighing approximately 200, 220, and 280 pounds on three lures at the Herradura. Congratulations, Craig! That’s quite a feat! Good going, Captain Jaime and Mate Silverio. No one is better in all of Cabo than the Pisces Fleet and their crews.

The Pisces Fleet’s week was filled with memorable catches, expert crews, and the joy of shared adventures on the water. Anglers from many places experienced excellent fishing, camaraderie, and the thrill of battling remarkable game fish in the waters off Cabo San Lucas.
