These outstanding conditions produced productive outings aboard multiple boats, resulting in strong releases of Striped Marlin and steady catches of Dorado, Sierra, Skipjack, Wahoo, and several Shark species. Successful efforts were reported from well‑known fishing areas, including the Jaime Bank, Punta Gorda, and Faro Viejo, as well as offshore grounds such as the 95, 220, and 1150 Spots. Live bait techniques, particularly ballyhoo, caballito, cocinero, and jurelito, proved highly effective, while trolling lures and Rapala also generated significant results. Anglers from across the United States enjoyed the excellent weather and steady action throughout the week.

El Cazador, the 29‑foot Blackfin


Aboard El Cazador, the 29‑foot Blackfin captained by Carmelo with Mate Luis, anglers Carl Weakland, Dorothy McLellan, John McLellan, and Kimberley Buttermore enjoyed a productive day at the 1150 Spot, releasing a Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 110 pounds.

Meanwhile, Listo, the 48‑foot Viking captained by Ray with Mate Hector Romero, produced excellent action for angler Pat McGrenera of Spring, Texas. His day included the release of an approximately 100‑pound Striped Marlin, two Dorado weighing between 12 and 20 pounds, and two Skipjack weighing from four to eight pounds, all taken at the 1150 Spot.

Saturday, March 21, 2026, offered nearly perfect conditions, with calm seas, light breezes of eight to ten miles per hour, and both air and water temperatures in the low to mid‑seventies.
On Tracy Ann, the 31‑foot Bertram captained by Julio Castro with Mate Raul Leal, anglers Augustus, Ford, Gunnar, Robert, and Sasha Mangelsdorf, along with Walter Kinney of St. Louis, Missouri, enjoyed steady action at Faro Viejo.

175‑pound Mako Shark

Their catch included five Sierra weighing four to five pounds, one Bonito weighing eight to ten pounds, and a ten‑pound Skipjack, along with an impressive 175‑pound Mako Shark taken at Cabeza de Ballena. Aboard Tiburon, the 31‑foot Bertram captained by Rosendo with Mates Gomez and Carlos Santos, anglers Angela Tanori Lopez and Ken Besada caught a 90‑pound Striped Marlin at the 95 Spot.

Sunday, March 22, 2026, saw slightly warmer water temperatures, ranging from 72 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit, while weather conditions and fishing activity remained steady.
On Adriana, the 28‑foot Uniflite captained by Frank with Mate Arthur, anglers Cara Sodo, Emily Teitelbaum, and Josh Teitelbaum of Kensington, Maryland, successfully caught and released two Striped Marlin weighing approximately 100 pounds each outside of La Playita.

The Tracy Ann, captained by Fernando with Mate Raton, produced an exceptional Sierra bite for angler Cory Pardon of Minot, North Dakota, who landed twenty‑three Sierra weighing three to five pounds on cuchi outside of Migrino.

Monday, March 23, 2026, delivered near‑perfect fishing conditions, with four‑ to five‑foot seas, mild winds, warm water, and air temperatures climbing to 78 degrees.

On Andrea, the 28‑foot Uniflite captained by Chuy with Mate Brian, anglers Aaron, Joanie, and Langdon Dobbs of Oregon enjoyed outstanding action at the Jaime Bank, catching and releasing six Striped Marlin in the 100‑ to 130‑pound range, along with a 36‑pound Dorado.
That same day aboard El Cazador, Captain Carmelo and Mate Luis guided anglers Ryan, Sean, and Ty Yeckley of Savannah, Georgia, to a mixed catch twenty miles off Del Cerro that included a Striped Marlin weighing between 90 and 100 pounds, a Dorado weighing 15 to 20 pounds, and an impressive 180‑pound Blue Marlin.

Tuesday, March 24, 2026, brought continued stable conditions with four‑ to five‑foot seas, light winds, and pleasant air temperatures.
The fishing remained strong throughout the day. Aboard Lady Homa, the 67‑foot Bertram captained by Lupe with Mate Manuel, anglers Maria Bodor, Molly Moreno, Steve Perry, Tatum Moreno, and William Moreno of Minden, Nevada, released four Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 120 pounds and caught four Dorado weighing 15 to 25 pounds at San Jaime.

That same day aboard BBII, the 37‑foot Viking Billfish captained by Hector with Mates Gil and Lalo, anglers Darrah Munter, Mike Munter, and Trenton Munter of Drexel, Missouri, released three Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 120 pounds at the 210 Spot.
