Water temperature was comfortable at 76 degrees Fahrenheit, and air temperatures remained steady between 74 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, creating generally pleasant conditions.

37-foot Viking Billfish, "BBII

Anglers Austin Griggs, Chad Cashink, and Scott Cashink chartered the 37-foot Viking Billfish, “BBII,” with Captain Hector and Mates Gil and Lalo running the cockpit when they caught and released one Striped Marlin weighing around 130 pounds on a cocinero and a very beautiful 20-pound Dorado on a Ballyhoo at the Herradura. 

The 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, the Ripper, was skippered by Juan Ramon and Mate Erick, when their guests, Haille and James Puschman from Comfort, Texas, caught a 5-pound Ladyfish on chum at the Santa Maria. Although the fishing was scarce, the Puschmans couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable day on the water.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, conditions were generally favorable, with clear skies and calm seas prevailing throughout the day. Wave heights ranged from two to three feet, contributing to stable marine conditions. Water temperatures ranged from 72 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit, while air temperatures ranged from 64 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, accompanied by some wind, resulting in mild, comfortable overall conditions.

 "BILL COLLECTOR 2," a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge

Captain Abel and Mates Ninja and Daniel, who manage the “BILL COLLECTOR 2,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, took their anglers, Laura Patrasso, Zach Gaver, Ed Szczypinski, and Jeffrey Patrasso, from Hawaii, to the outside of the Palmilla, where they caught two 2- to 3-pound Skipjack on cuchi. It was a great day despite the lack of fish!

The 28-foot Uniflite “ADRIANA,” captained by Orlando with mate Velez, took their clients, Brian Hernandez and Lonnie Lape, from Arlington, Texas, who caught three Dorado weighing from 15 to 30 pounds on caballito and Ballyhoo at the 1150 Spot.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the weather was clear and calm, making for a pleasant day on the water. Wave heights stayed steady between 2 and 3 feet, ensuring smooth conditions for fishing. Water temperatures ranged from 69 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit, while air temperatures ranged from 68 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere all day.

"LA CHINGONA 2," the 64-foot Viking

“LA CHINGONA 2,” the 64-foot Viking, managed by Captain Toño and Mates Miguel and Luis, had a group of anglers, including Amanda Rhoden, Caroline Bain, Carson Potts, Emory Rhoden, Kai Orred, and Lewis Rhoden, who all contributed to a memorable day on the water under clear skies and calm conditions. They successfully released four Striped Marlin weighing between 80 and 120 pounds. The anglers used caballitos and Ballyhoo as bait, achieving notable catches near the Cabrillo Mount.

Panga Anamar II, a 24-foot boat

The day’s catch on Panga Anamar II, a 24-foot boat captained by Alvaro, delivered an impressive fishing experience under favorable weather conditions. Angler Robert Fellows, visiting from Holmer, Alaska, caught seven Sierra weighing between three and six pounds using cuchi at the Pedregalito, one Roosterfish of approximately ten to twelve pounds, and one Ladyfish weighing one to two pounds, both landed with caballito and chum as bait. Additionally, he reeled in two Red Snapper in the one-to-two-pound range using chum at the Margaritas, further highlighting the excellent opportunities presented by the calm seas and pleasant environment.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, weather and marine conditions were excellent for sportfishing. The skies were clear, and the seas were calm, with wave heights between two and three feet. Water temperatures ranged from 71 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit, while air temperatures remained steady between 67- and 73-degrees Fahrenheit. Winds varied from 3 to 20 knots, creating a comfortable and stable environment for anglers on the water.

BILL COLLECTOR 2,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Abel and Mate José Luis R., experienced a successful day on the water. Using caballito and cocinero for bait at the 1150 Spot, the Reymunde family, Alvaro Reymunde, Angel Reymunde, Heather Reymunde, and Xavier Reymunde, managed to release four Striped Marlin, each weighing between 100 and 120 pounds. All of the anglers contributed to this achievement, taking full advantage of the favorable fishing conditions to ensure they enjoyed a memorable outing.

Captain Jean Carlo Lopez, aboard the “BILL COLLECTOR 4,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge with Mate Erick Jr., achieved an outstanding result at the 1150 spot. Using Ballyhoo and curry as bait, anglers Chase Marino, Hayes Boone, Hudson Ewing, Tyler Smith, and Zach Gilliam successfully caught and released eight 100 t0 160-pound Striped Marlin.

Captain Jose Ramon and Mate Alucano Marcelo raced to the outside of the 1150 Spot aboard the “REBECCA,” a 31-foot Bertram with anglers Carter Dietz, Curt Stockinger, Lucas Stockinger, Max Weidman, Nick Heger, and Ted Weidman. There, the anglers successfully landed two Sierra weighing between three and six pounds using Cruci. They continued on to the Migrino, where the anglers caught two Grouper in the two-to-three-pound range and seven Ladyfish, each weighing one to two pounds, all caught with cuchi at the Migrino. The team also reeled in one Red Snapper in the one- to two-pound class. The anglers praised Cabo’s favorable conditions that contributed to a productive and memorable fishing trip.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, weather and marine conditions stayed favorable for sportfishing. The skies remained clear all day, with calm seas and wave heights between four and five feet. Winds were about eleven miles per hour, creating a gentle breeze on the water. Water temperatures stayed steady from seventy-one to seventy-two degrees Fahrenheit, while air temperatures ranged from sixty-nine to seventy-three degrees Fahrenheit. These conditions made for a comfortable and enjoyable environment for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

“BBII,” The 37-foot Viking Billfish, with Captain Hector and Mates Gil and Lalo, along with the angler, Darren Turco from Florida. He had a notable day of fishing near Punta Gorda, successfully releasing five Striped Marlin, each weighing between 90 and 130 pounds. Additionally, he landed one Dorado weighing approximately 25 pounds using bait at 1150 Spot. These catches exemplified his skill, along with that of the crew, and the favorable marine conditions, making the excursion productive and memorable.

"Chasin Tail," a 62-foot Viking

“Chasin Tail,” a 62-foot Viking with Captain Pepe and crew members Ulises, Ramon, and Dulce, welcomed anglers Bryan Tucker, Cameron Tucker, Debbie Tucker, Emily Tucker, Jennifer Tucker, Josh Tucker, and Margie Tucker from Texas aboard the boat. They enjoyed a productive outing near the 1150 Spot. Using ballyhoo and cocinero as bait, the team successfully released three Striped Marlin, each weighing approximately 120 pounds, and landed two Dorado in the 15 to 20-pound range, both caught on Ballyhoo. The favorable conditions and skilled crew ensured a memorable and rewarding fishing experience for all aboard.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the weather was very favorable for sportfishing. The skies remained clear all day, offering excellent visibility and a pleasant atmosphere. Calm seas with wave heights of three to four feet ensured a stable and enjoyable experience on the water. Water temperatures reached a comfortable seventy-six degrees Fahrenheit, and air temperatures stayed at seventy-four degrees Fahrenheit.

“VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram captained by Roberto Sandez and Salvador Flores, with anglers H. Ronald Solomon and Paula Jo Ballou from Palm City, Florida, experienced a successful outing at the 1150 Spot. Using caballito as bait, the team skillfully released one 60 to 70-pound Striped Marlin. The combination of expert guidance and favorable conditions contributed to a memorable day on the water.

Justin Lamettry and Mason Lamettry, visiting from Minnesota, chartered the RIPPER,” a 35-foot Flybridge captained by Juan and Mate Frank, delivered a rewarding fishing experience eight miles off Punta Piedras. Justin and Mason skillfully landed three Skipjack weighing between three and four pounds using bait. Their efforts, combined with the crew’s expertise and the favorable fishing conditions, contributed to an enjoyable and productive day on the water.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, water conditions remained exceptionally favorable for sportfishing. Clear skies, calm seas, and gentle winds created an ideal environment for anglers throughout the day. Wave heights held steady between four and six feet, while water temperatures reached 71 degrees Fahrenheit and air temperatures ranged from 69 to 76 degrees. The 40-foot Cabo Express, “La Coronita, captained by Manuel Romero Sr. and Mate Jr., delivered an outstanding experience for anglers Carter Graves, Cashiel Bowles, Dylan Carter, Jude Bowen, Spencer Hardin, Watkins Fyfe, and William Kimmerle of Stow, Ohio. Fishing at both the 95 Spot and the 1150 Spot, the group employed cocinero and ballyhoo to successfully release three Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 120 pounds. The combination of skilled captains, effective bait selection, and cooperative marine conditions resulted in a rewarding day for the entire group.

 "Tracy Ann," a 31-foot Bertram

 “Tracy Ann, a 31-foot Bertram captained by Fernando and Raul Leal, also reported an excellent day on the water. Anglers Cash, Jackson, Nick, Sarah, and Tyler Thoemke achieved a successful catch and release of one Striped Marlin estimated between 120 and 130 pounds at the 1150 Spot using bait. Their productivity continued at the 95 Spot, where they landed a Dorado weighing between 10 and 12 pounds on Ballyhoo. Strong teamwork, experienced crew leadership, and favorable conditions contributed to highly satisfying outing for all aboard.

Overall, the combination of excellent weather, skilled crews, and active fisheries produced a series of notable catches and memorable experiences.
