San Jose del Cabo Art Walk – Join us!

San Jose del Cabo Art Walk – Join us!

FEBRUARY 20, 2014 BY ROBERTO GONZALEZ

Come join us every Thursday in San Jose del Cabo for the weekly Art Walk along the historic city center.  Most of the town’s galleries have their doors open until late at night, and the restaurants are vivid with live music and inviting smells from their kitchens.  I love the Art Walk and attend it with my family and friends almost every week.   It’s like walking back in time with hand made beautiful art!

Most art galleries and shops offers refreshments such as wine, Mexican hot chocolate and hors d’oeuvres.  And on the streets of the this colorful historic town you may encounter many surprises – from a model dressed in a typical Day of the Dead costume “La Catrina” that is fun to get photos with, to street mariachi and more.

After the stroll down the streets, meeting new and old friends, and seeing the new works galleries are presenting, we usually end up having a dinner in a relaxing restaurant of some of San Jose’s acclaimed restaurants.  Last week we experienced a fabulous dinner at Mi Casa.  This week we might visit La Panga, Baja Brewing Company, Casa Natalia, Tropicana, French Riviera, Jazz & Tapas Bar, Casianos or any other from the rich culinary offer in San Jose del Cabo.

The Art Walk in San Jose del Cabo has become our personal tradition.  It is just so much fun and nothing is better than spending time with friends and family while being surrounded by art and history.

I hope I will see you at the Art Walk next time as well!

About Art Walk Cabo

In Baja, M?xico behind San Jose del Cabo’s historic main square and church lies the ever-growing Art District, which in recent years has become the cultural center of Los Cabos with many high-end fine art galleries displaying original paintings, sculpture, photography, prints and jewelry by local, national and international contemporary artists. Among these art galleries are shops housing the works by the top folk artists and artisans of Cabo & Mexico. Along with an abundance of galleries, the Art District is home to some of the area’s top restaurants.

Art Walk in San jose is a popular weekly event. Every Thursday evening between the months of November and June, the galleries welcome guests to enjoy an evening strolling the neighborhood, viewing art, sipping wine and dining at the fabulous neighborhood restaurants. All who participate are open from 5pm-9pm and often certain galleries will have special events such as “artist in attendance” or openings of new work. It is a great night to come downtown and enjoy what our district has to offer.
