The latest Pisces Weekly Fishing Report highlights another exciting week for our PISCES ANGLERS in Los Cabos. The report also mentions two consecutive weeks of six-species catches. The catch-and-release once again included Striped Marlin plus one Blue Marlin. The anglers also enjoyed some catches of Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, and Shark while exploring Los Cabos offshore waters.

“VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram with Captain Orlando and Mate Salvador Flores, brought their group from Miami, Florida, Daniel Cook and Jetson Swayze from Miami, to catch and release a 400-pound Blue Marlin on a Ballyhoo at the Cabrillo Mount. The catching of a Blue Marlin was exhilarating and is no small feat—what a thrill that must have been!

Brad Hernandez, Giovanni Fraley, and John Fraley from Miami, Florida, chose the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Carlos Santos, who took the anglers outside the 1150 Spot, where they caught and released two Striped Marlin. The successful day could not have been any better, and the captain and mate enjoyed fishing with the Floridians.

“DREAM CATCHER,” a 31-foot Bertram with clients James Kandrac, Joe Santora, and Thomas Wright from Miami headed to the 1150 Spot where they, too, caught and released two 100 to 110-pound Striped Marlin on bait, plus three Dorado on bait. The day was almost perfect, and the anglers left the boat very happy!
On the “CABALLITO,” at the 11:50 Spot, the back-up boat with Captain Oscar and Mate Ziquio took James Kandrac, Joe Sanatora, and Thomas Wright from Miami, Florida, caught a 43-pound Wahoo on a Rapala at the 1150 Spot. It sounded like an exciting blend of teamwork and skill.

The “HOT ROD,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, led the charge with Captain Erick Orozco and Mate Hot Rod Jose Ramiro Ramirez, took their Captain Erick Orozco on a “Fisherman’s Holiday” where he caught and released two Striped Marlin in the 100 to 120-pound range on cocinero/and Ballyhoo at Santa Maria and the del Cerro Spots.
On the “LA BRISA,” Captain Ray Winkler and Mate Jesus Winkler scored a great catch with Striped Marlin, using a Ballyhoo as bait at the 1150 Spot, and a 39-pound Wahoo reeled in with a Lure Amarillo at the same spot. Hans Becker, Joseph Erpelding, and Kirk Howe enjoyed the action, making the trip from California worthwhile!
Meanwhile, the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, captained by Rosendo Gomez and Mate Carlos Santos, added to the day’s success with a 100-pound Striped Marlin, hooked with a Ballyhoo three miles off Chileno, and another Wahoo caught using Ballyhoo at Chileno. Both were caught by Brea Cooper, Drew Whitesell, Jason Cooper, and Kelsey Whitesell from Texas.
On the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram, with Captain Orlando and Mates Mario and Fernando, welcomed Florida anglers, Eric Munn, Jacob Sanchez, and Michael Aguirre, who added a fantastic highlight to their day. They headed to the Chileno Spot, where the Floridians caught a very nice-sized 50-pound Wahoo, and two 100 to 120-pound Striped Marlin that they caught and released. It sounds like an exciting blend of teamwork and skill.
Captain Rosendo Gomez, and Mate Carlos Santos, who welcomed their guests Ann Simank and Cole Smith aboard the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, where they caught and released four Striped Marlin in the 120-pound range on cocinero and Ballyhoo outside Gorda Point. The two of them had their fair share of excitement out on the water!

“RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram run by Captain Beto Lira and Mate Chuy Romero,
had James Flowers, Nicholas Kronfeld, and Grendon Underwood from England who caught a 54-pound Wahoo on a LURE at the 1150 Spot on a Rapala and a 100-pound Striped Marlin also on a lure that they released. Having never caught such beasts before, it was a first for them, and they enjoyed the very exciting time.
“TIBURON,” the 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Orlando and Mates Carlos Santos and Velez, had their guests Beverly Niceley and George Bremen from Alabama catch two Striped Marlin on Cocinero and Ballyhoo at the Punta Gorda, and Four Silky Sharks weighing up to 80 pounds also at Punta Gorda.
