As the week unfolded, the waters of Cabo continued to offer excitement and variety for anglers of all skill levels. Whether it was of success, accomplishment, camaraderie, or an appreciation for the beauty of the ocean, it was another memorable week on the water. Some anglers were excited about catching a trophy fish, while others were pleased with the volume of fish they caught, and many were content with the variety of fish they encountered or hooked in one day. From the smooth, skilled coordination of the captains and mates aboard an assortment of boats, the experiences were as diverse as the anglers themselves. Every angler aboard the Pisces fleet returned with a story.

“CHASIN TAIL,” a 62-foot Viking with Captain Pepe and Mates Hamo, Dulce, and Ulises, took the group from Bakersfield, California Alyssa Torres, Brooklyn Garant, Johnny Upshaw, Kyle Connelly, Lester Surgener II, Robyn Surgener, and Rylee Sellers out for a day on the water. They were having a great time and caught and released an 80-pound Striped Marlin on bait. They also caught two 20-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait and one 70-pound Wahoo on curry, all at the 95 Spot. Many pleasant things happened throughout the day, and most of the group were able to enjoy them. However, a couple of anglers spent the day feeling very seasick.

Eli Kokz and William Payne chartered the experienced and skilled Captain Frank and Mate Mario on the “ADRIANA,” a 28-foot Uniflite, for their fishing day. They headed to the 150 Spot, and when they were 16 miles from the site, they began catching Yellowfin Tuna. They caught ten Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 30 pounds.

From Dallas, Texas, Gregory and George Matthew Peruski, Michael Kirsch, Rob Geske, Steven Peruski, and Thomas King selected the “CALIENTE,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, with Captain Jaime G and Mate Silverio Yamil caught and released three 60 to 80-pound Striped Marlin, one Dorado, two Jack Crevalle, and to top the day off, one 60-pound Silky Shark all caught on Ballyhoo at the 1150 Spot.
“CHASIN TAIL,” a 62-foot Viking with Captain Pepe and Mates Hamo and Ulises ran 8 miles outside to the 95 Spot where their fishing group, Alyssa Torres, Brooklyn Garant, Johnny Upshaw, Kyle Connelly, Lester Surgener II, Robyn Surgener, and Rylee Sellers from Bakersfield, California, caught and released one 120-pound Striped Marlin on a caballito, one Dorado on a Ballyhoo 5 miles outside Cabo Real, seventeen Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 22 pounds on lures and bait outside the Dulce, and one 34-pound Wahoo on a lure at the 95 Spot. It was an exciting day, with a mix of bait and lures as they traveled from spot to spot to find their fish.

The “Bill Collector,” a 32-foot Cabo Express with Captain Niko and Mate Erick, steered its group towards the 170 Spot. They reeled in fifteen Yellowfin Tuna, ranging between 15 and 18 pounds, using feathers and bait, bringing excitement to Aizaz Torr, Jackson Brown, and Jason Brown, who were visiting from Spicewood, Texas.

Meanwhile, aboard the “Tracy Ann,” a 31-foot Bertram helmed by Julio Castro and TracyAnn Raul Leal, the anglers had a thrilling time at Herradura. Their haul included two Striped Marlin weighing 110 and 120 pounds, caught and released with live Caballito and lures, two Dorado weighing 4 and 6 pounds, and twelve Yellowfin Tuna between 12 and 17 pounds, all taken with feathers and bait. Chase Mullinix and Samantha Mullinix savored every moment of their angling adventure.
Not to be outdone, Captain Roberto and Mate Chava, on the “Valerie,” a 35-foot Bertram, ventured to the 95 Spot for the Poen family from Iowa. Anglers Angie Dakota, Daypon, and Mike Poen gathered two Yellowfin Tuna weighing 16 to 18 pounds on bait outside the 95 Spot, rounding out their day with smiles for everyone.

To conclude, the “Adriana,” with Captain Orlando and Mate Arturo, explored the Chileno area with Amy, Leo, and Sam Kim from Manhattan Beach, California. Their diverse catch included a 10-pound Roosterfish, an 8-pound Pompano, and even a Triggerfish caught on bait. Each angler had his own story to tell.

The “RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram, Captained by Beto Lira and Mate Super Mario, chose to explore the Herradura. Their group, consisting of Baron Green, Evalyn Green, Gabriel Green, Parker Nunmarker, Robert Nunmarker, and Stephanie Green, from Missouri, Texas, enjoyed an exhilarating day. Their catch included one 25-pound Dorado taken on Ballyhoo, as well as twelve Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 25 pounds on bait. Each person returned with stories to tell of their adventures that day.
John Williams from San Diego, California, selected the “BILL COLLECTOR II,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Lopez and Mate Martinez as his fishing platform for the day, and it was a good thing he did. He had some thrilling experiences as they headed to the 95 Spot. John caught one 40-pound Wahoo on a Rapala outside the 95 Spot and found fifteen Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 70 pounds that they caught on bait and feathers, but the highlight of the day was a 180-pound Hammerhead Shark, which was one of the most unforgettable fishing catches in John’s life. He returned to the dock, still amazed, with stories of their triumph in bringing the Shark to the boat. He appreciated being able to share this day with his remarkable Pisces crew.

Christopher Delgado and Kye Steele from Seattle, Washington, chartered the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram, captained by Alan Delgado and Mate Roberto Sandez.
The anglers caught a 57-pound Dorado on feathers between the 95 and the Herradura, bringing a splash of color. They had photos to confirm the beauty of their large Catch of the Day!

Eager for adventure, the group from Odessa, Texas, Braydon Brooks, Josh Miller, Laci Satterwhite, Landon Satterwhite, Lane Satterwhite, Michael Satterwhite, and Scotty Satterwhite chose the “CALIENTE,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, run by Captain Jaime and Mate Silverio. They headed to the waters near the Lighthouse, where the anglers caught and released a 100-pound Striped Marlin on bait. Adding to the excitement, they also hooked nine up to18-pound Yellowfin Tuna on lures and bait and two 25-pound Wahoo on lures and bait 18 miles to the 210 Spot. The group returned to the dock exhilarated, brimming with the fun and camaraderie of the day and tales of their fishing successes.

Captain Abeland Mate Andres welcomed another group, Cole Guillory and Greg Kernion, Jacqueline Lavin and Nilda Kernion, Richard Kernion, Jr., Richard Kernion, III, Skyler McLaughlin, and Will Hurley, on board the “RIPPER,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge. They ran straight for the Lighthouse, and when they were 15 miles out from the Lighthouse, the efforts of the anglers yielded a memorable catch of twelve Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 25 pounds on bait and feathers.

Captain Julio Castro and Mate TracyAnn Raul Leal eagerly watched for their group of anglers to show on the 31-foot Bertram, the “TRACY ANN.” When Bobby Warren, Jaime Kay Woodall, Jennifer Warren, Josh Abbott Woodall, and Kelton Warren boarded the boat, the crew members welcomed them warmly and headed straight for the San Jaime Bank. Upon arrival outside of San Jaime, armed with bait, feathers, and strong determination, the anglers caught seventeen Yellowfin Tuna up to 18 pounds. The sun and the spray of saltwater added to the thrill of the catch.

“LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Orlando and Mate Jesus Winkler, had a single angler aboard, Tim Shutter, from Tyler, Texas. He caught and released one 120-pound Striped Marlin on a caballito at the 1150 Spot, which put up a memorable fight before being released back into the ocean.

“ANDREA,” a 28-foot Uniflite with Captain Fernando Noyola at the Helm and Mate Marcelo in charge of the Cockpit, ran 25 miles to the 200 Spot where their two anglers from Tennessee, Kyle Tostenson and Nicholas Bishop, caught nine 25 to 35-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait. The experienced crew and eager anglers were pleased with their day.

From California, Deena and Gregg Wanke, Jaime Wanke, and Matt Cross chose the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram run by Captain Ray Winkler and Mate Jesus Winkler. The Californians caught twelve Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 12 pounds on bait and feathers 35 miles to the 200 Spot. The friendship and excitement aboard the boat were evident as the anglers practiced casting their bait and reeling in their fish.
Meanwhile, aboard the “REBECCA,” a 31-foot Bertram, Captain Jose Ramon Alucano and Mate Carlos Santos prepared for another day of fishing. Their next group of anglers included Cayden Costner, Hunter MacDonald, Jesse Vandyk, Sebastian Cadwell, and Cameron McNulty, all from Texas. The crew guided them to inshore fishing, where they caught two 12-pound Roosterfish on lisas. The day fulfilled the promise of thrilling chases and catches of these unusual species.
On the “BILL COLLECTOR II,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, Captain Lopez and Mate Martinez welcomed a lively party from Texas, Jackson Robert, Dedek Jacob, Alford Lanier, Jeremy Kenneth, Dedek Michael, and Chad Lanies. Their vessel, a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, glided toward the Cabrillo, where the spirits were high as the anglers baited up, excitedly waiting for the two 120-pound Striped Marlin to take their bait. The fight of the day was on, and they caught and released two Striped Marlin back into the ocean. It was a fine, fine day!
On the “HOT ROD,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, Captain Erick Orozco, and Mate Hot Rod Jose Ramiro Ramirez were happy to welcome Ann Marie Holland, Dick Holland, Sara Holland, and Steven Duchaine aboard. They headed to the 95 Spot, where they caught and released one 100-pound Sailfish on a caballito outside the 95 Spot. The anglers had such a great time with the beautiful Sail that they were left eager for their next fishing expedition.

Avid fishermen from Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, Dustin Abrahamson and Ethan Abrahamson, chartered the “RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Beto Lira and Mate Jesus Romero in charge. They headed to the Old Lighthouse, where there had been rumors of excellent fishing bandied about. The skilled anglers caught and released one 120-pound Striped Marlin and eleven Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 20 pounds on bait and feathers 25 miles outside the Old Lighthouse. The anglers were happy as they reeled in their Tuna and the mighty Striped Marlin.
Expert angler Marshall Cromer from Oakland, California, joined experienced Captain Arturo and Mates Joel and Daniel aboard the boat “MY WAY,” a 48-foot Viking. Marshall had an epic fishing day as he successfully caught and released two 110-pound Striped Marlin, plus he caught one 20-pound Dorado on Ballyhoo at the 1150 Spot. Then, adding to the challenge of both inshore and offshore, he hooked a 10-pound Roosterfish on Lisa at the Cabo Real.
Guy Howard Evans chose the “FRIDAY BANK,” a 66-foot Viking with Captain Alex and Mates Saul and Beto running the boat to the 1150 Spot, where they caught and released one 100-pound Striped Marlin on caballito. Guy excitedly reeled in his catch, one turn at a time, thrilled with the marlin’s fierce resistance.
The crews and their guests met as they all arrived at the docks and began recounting the stories of the day, and the promise of another day began to take shape.
